I've been talking about starting a street style section for forever...and I'm very excited to announce that the day has finally come! Living in New York City, the American epicenter of fashion, I constantly see a bevy of well dressed people. I always curse myself for not having my camera on me when this happens. Today, it finally didn't.
I ran into this lovely lady while walking on the Upper West Side. Her vintage looking polka dot ensemble immediately caught my eye and she agreed to have her photograph taken while she was setting aside her bicycle and talking on the phone. While doing all of that she still took an amazing photograph. Hope I'm as smooth as she is when I reach her age. I loved her hat and white cat eye glasses that matched so perfectly with her light polka dot coat. Chic, elegant, simple.
Her outfit appears to have many vintage elements to it, which is interesting because the pieces she wears could be seen as trendy today. Polka dots are seen in so many current designer collections as well as all the big chains (H&M, Zara) and platform sandals are the new popular and comfortable summer shoe. However her look is completely unique to her, which is what drew me to it.

She wears...
Hat: Vintage looking black hat with red detail, the detail matches her other accessories!
Sunglasses: White vintage looking cat-eye sunglasses, tres chic.
Jewelry: Funky long statement necklace with pops of red
Jacket: Long light weight polka dot jacket
Dress: Long black flowy dress perfect for summer weather
Shoes: Red strappy platform sandals, a pop of color is perfect for a black and white ensemble
& a mint colored bicycle to enjoy the beautiful weather and scenery on Manhattan's Upper West Side.

What do you think? How's that for A Hit of Sarah's first street style muse?
