HARPER SMITH

I was looking through Rachel Roy's website when I came across her Fall 2011 advert. I was immediately impressed and really enjoyed the original photography featuring her collection. The photographer of the campaign, Harper Smith, was unknown to me. Intrigued, I googled her and found her website with all of her work on it and sat and went through all of her photography. Her portfolio was interesting to me in that there seemed to be a common theme. The models seemed to have some sort of innocence to them. Wether they were playing outside, laying in grass, wearing Native American headdresses, dipping their feet into the ocean, they all evoked freedom and youth. These days photographers sometimes over sexualize models (I.E. Thylane Blondeau), but Smith portrayed their beauty in a clean and pure way.
